Behind Tilo

A simpler way to support the early years

Tilo grew out of years spent alongside children and families during a beautiful, demanding stage of life: the early years.

It is here to give you practical support when limits, frustration, jealousy, separation or big feelings arrive — including the moments that overwhelm adults too.

01

Where Tilo began

Young children want to choose, explore and do things for themselves. At the same time, they are still building the skills to wait, share, accept a limit and put words to what they feel.

Families need support as well. We may know what we do not want to repeat, yet tiredness, hurry and our own automatic responses tend to appear just when things get hard.

Tilo brings the how within reach: stories, narrations, songs, activities and family guides that approach the same skill from different angles. Not so you can do it perfectly. So you do not have to invent everything on your own.

Not so you can do it perfectly. So you have support when you need it most.

02

Tilo came from families like yours

From mothers, fathers and carers who keep learning, reflecting and looking for a more thoughtful way to raise their children, even when everyday life runs away with them.

What families share is only used in aggregate. No private story becomes public content. These are familiar situations, not labels placed on children.

  • A limit that ends in tears or shouting

  • Hitting or biting when words run out

  • Separation at the start of nursery or school

  • Jealousy when family life changes

  • Frustration when something does not work

  • Finding it hard to approach other children

Who we are

We are family. At home, we have always said that we stick together. Here, that idea became Tilo and Maní.

Samantha and Joan, the people behind Tilo

Sociologist and Montessori guide for ages 3–6

Samantha

I am a mother of three, a sociologist and a Montessori guide specialising in ages 3–6 through the Association Montessori Internationale. I have supported families for years and am a school founder.

In 2024 I began sharing ideas about childhood, connection, limits and emotional health as SamanthaCrianza. I have also collaborated with El Nacional, La Vanguardia, El Confidencial, Xataka and ABC.

Everything I have learned as a mother, guide and family adviser led me to Tilo: clear, usable resources that respect what both the child and the adult are living through.

Father and part of Tilo

Joan

I am a father. Parenthood has brought wonderful things, plenty of challenges and one very practical question: how do you find clear support when there is so much information that it becomes hard to know where to begin?

At Tilo, I help turn Samantha’s perspective and experience into something families can use easily, without adding more noise or expecting them to become experts.

How we want to work

Human

We are people supporting people. Behind every behaviour is a child who is learning and an adult who may need support too.

Thoughtful

Changing old patterns is hard. We look at what the child needs and what comes up for the adult, without blame and without promising shortcuts.

Practical

An idea only helps if it reaches real life. Every Moment offers words, actions and practice that fit into family life.
